Wow! We were definitely NOT expecting that answer!
BBC News reporter Clive Myrie got a chance to sit down with the Dalai Lama recently, and things took a controversial turn when the religious leader was asked if the 15th incarnation of the Dalai Lama after him could possibly be female!

Responding with an emphatic “Yes!”, all seemed to be going smoothly at first!
But then the Dalai Lama went on to say:
“Why not? The female biologically [has] more potential to show affection.”
The Dalai Lama followed that up by saying he thinks it’s important to have more women in leadership positions!
OK, right?? Except he spoiled it by saying:
“If a female Dalai Lama comes, their face should be very attractive.”
Ah yes! Because we all know the most important thing about being the Dalai Lama is being attractive!!
After some VERY uncomfortable laughter, Clive asked if he was simply making a joke, but that did NOT seem to be the case!
Ch-ch-check out the controversial comments for yourself in the video (below) at the 5:00 mark and sound off in the comments!
